Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJACOB W. BROWN April 18, 1919 - April 24, 2006 With great sadness, we announce the passing of Jacob (Jake) Brown. Devoted husband of Lucy Brown, who passed away on January 21, 2006. They would have been married 65 years on April 12, 2006. Loving father to Ronald (Luba) of Ottawa, Lorraine Donald (Douglas) of Vernon, BC, Marilyn Morris (William) of Buffalo, NY, Jacquelin Otte (Wilf) of Maple Ridge, BC, and Bill (Sherry) of Winnipeg; grandfather to Anne-Marie, Shelley, Tammy (Wayne), Tracey (Billy), Shawn (Kristy), Sarah, Jacqueline, Kathleen, Christopher (Laura), Andrew, and Zachary; and great-grandfather to Kiana, Ethan, Blake, Cole, and Grace. Survived by his brothers Isaac, John, and Robert. Predeceased by his parents Isaac and Kathrina (Wiens) and sister Dorothy Johnson. Jake was born in Winkler, MB, moving to Winnipeg in 1932 where he completed high school. He was a veteran of the Second World War where he served in the defense of the west coast of Canada. Lucy and Jake married during the war and moved to West Kildonan in 1946. He worked for a variety of trucking firms throughout his career. Jake was very resourceful, continuing to work on projects throughout his life. Jake was known for his humour and his ability to make people laugh. Thanks to Dr. Peter Kuegle, Dr. Patricia Harris, and all the nurses and staff in the Oncology Clinic and Third Floor at Concordia Hospital. Funeral services will take place at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, April 28, with visitation one-half hour prior to service time. Interment and reception will follow. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca.
