Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIDA KUHN June 14, 1912 April 25, 2006 Gently, after many years of caring for her family, cooking, baking, quilting, travelling to places such as Arizona, California, Florida, PEI, Alaska, The Black Hills and many other places, Ida left for her eternal home. Ida was born on June 14, 1912 at home in Seven Sisters Falls, the fourth child of Frederich and Katherina Schultz (nee Frehs). On June 27, 1936 she married her true love Bernhard Kuhn and together they raised their two daughters and enjoyed many good times together. Sadly, Ben passed away on October 15, 1962 but she carried memories of him always close to her heart. Ida went on to take positions with Manitoba Hydro as a relief cook in Kelsey, MB and then as Matron at the staff house in Seven Sisters. For a few summers she cooked meals for university students who were doing archeological digs in the Whitemouth Falls area. In 1985 Ida moved to Stony Plains in Beausejour. There she made many new friends and had wonderful times in her new home. Recently, she was crowned Ms. Stony Plains Princess (and her smile lit up the room). Leaving to forever cherish her memory are her two daughters, Iona (Ed Gusta) and their children Glen (April) and Kirk, Brenda (David Coyne) and their children Michael, Corina (Lanch Sayers) and Kelly and her two precious great-granddaughters, Caitlyn Sayers and Kailey Gusta. She was predeceased by her parents Frederich Schultz in 1920, Katherina (Frehs) in 1982, her sisters Caroline (Lena), Katherine and brother Fred. She leaves to mourn her sisters Elsie Howcroft, Lillian Seidel and her brother Albert Schultz. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and godchildren who were very special to her. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 27 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in River Hills, MB with Pastor George Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to the staff and home care workers at Stony Plains. Your kindness and love will not be forgotten. You were mom's Earth Angels . Thank you also to Dr. Zeiler and the staff at Beausejour Hospital for your kind and gentle care of our mother. Your compassion will always be remembered. Thank you to Darlene Beeskau-Reimer for the flowers, cards and many visits. You are a special godchild. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in Ida's memory may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, River Hills, MB R0E 1T0 SOBERING FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM, Beausejour 268-3510 or MB Toll Free 1-877-776-2220
