EVANGELISTA JULIA VAZ 1944 - 2006 On Monday, April 24, 2006, at the age of 62, Evangelista passed away peacefully. She was predeceased by her father and mother Sebastiao and Beatriz. Evangelista is survived by her siblings, Fernando (Diane), Lionel (Maria), Maria, Alcina and Ilda. Along with her siblings she leaves behind 12 nephews and nieces and 12 great-nephews and great-nieces. Having emigrated from a small town in northern Portugal in the early 1970s to Winnipeg, she quickly settled in with her family around her making this her new home. Her strength of will, humour, family loyalty, religious devotion and courage are just a small bit of the legacy she leaves behind. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, Godmother and friend. Heartfelt thanks to all who have cared for her over the last few years. We love you and we will miss you Lista, but we know that you are finally home Deus te deia eterno descanso The golden moment in the stream of life rush past us and we see nothing but sand; the angels come to visit us, and we only know them when they are gone. Prayers will be held on Thursday, April 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Blessed John 23rd Roman Catholic Church, 3390 Portage Ave. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery.
