NORMAN H. BARR May 18, 1935 - April 22, 2006 Norman Barr, born May 18, 1935 in Carberry, MB, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2006 at Kelowna General Hospital. Norman will be lovingly missed by his wife Alice, of 50 years, of Kelowna; five children, Gordon (Lorraine), Portland, OR, Karen (Rob), Oakbank, MB, Lorraine (Wayne), Pinawa, MB, Shaun (Shiela), Kelowna, BC, Errol (Kim), Las Vegas; 13 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; one brother Richard, Nanimo, BC; and one sister Kathleen (Ken), Brandon, MB. His parents, Townsley and Lona, predeceased him. Norman worked for Manitoba's Department of Highways for 35 years, retiring in 1992. Norman and Alice lived 14 years in Emerson, MB, 10 years in Morden, MB, and for 15 years in Winnipeg, MB. After retirement, the couple moved to Clear Lake, MB, where they spent their summers, enjoying their winters in Meza, AZ. After Norman's health failed, they relocated to Kelowna, BC in 2000. One of Norman's joys was travelling. He was also a great admirer of J.F. Kennedy, and he loved to make children laugh. In accordance with Norman's wishes, he has been cremated. There will be a Come and Go' for family friends on Friday, April 28 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Barr residence, 102-2350 Stilling Fleet Rd. in Kelowna, BC. Also there will be a graveside service with interment of the urn, on May 8 at 1:00 p.m. at the Brandon Cemetery in Brandon, MB.
