ALDYNE ADAMS Aldyne passed away peacefully with her family by her side, late morning on Saturday, April 8, 2006, after a brave struggle with Alzheimer's. She was predeceased by her loving husband Tony (the late Thomas Peter Adams), by her dedicated parents, Frank and Blanche McKinney and by her beloved brother Bob McKinney, who was killed in action over Europe in 1944. After her days at Kelvin High School in Winnipeg, where she was an accomplished student and athlete and won the school's Governor General Gold Medal, she graduated with her B.A. in languages from University of Manitoba, where she was a member of Alpha Phi sorority. Her music, her family and her Christian faith became the foundation of her active and full life as a wife and mother. She was a soloist and chorister with the University of Manitoba Glee Club, at Broadway First Baptist Church, at St. Luke's Anglican Church, Winnipeg and at the Chapel-by-the-Sea, Fort Myers Beach, FL. She served on the Board of the Winnipeg Symphony and was for many years a dedicated member of the congregation and Guild at St. George's Church, Winnipeg. She will be greatly missed by her immediate family (Bob and Roberta, Elizabeth, Jane and Phillip Rotman), grandchildren to Grandma Dyne (Becca, Shauna, Aaron, Ryan and Tabitha) and great-granddaughter Peyton. An extended family of McKinney, Turner and Adams descendants, spread around the world, were always exceedingly important to her and provided wonderful support over many years. Her family extends sincere thanks to them and to many supportive friends, especially to the dedicated staff at Sunrise Assisted Living and at Saanich Peninsula Extended Care in Victoria. Donations may be made in Aldyne's memory, in lieu of flowers, to St. George's Anglican Church or to the Alzheimer's Society. The family will celebrate Aldyne's life at a memorial service to be arranged at a later date in Winnipeg, where her ashes will lie with her parents, beside her beloved Tony .
