Daughter of James and Alice Gibson, Marjorie was born and lived her life in Winnipeg, MB. It was at Kelvin High School that she met her future husband, Neil Briggs. After the War, they married and Marjorie devoted herself to raising and caring for her family. Mom's kind and gentle nature was an inspiration to us all. Playing the piano, cooking and entertaining, book club and endless hours of bridge brought her great enjoyment. Mom and Dad loved the cottage at Ponemah Beach, and cherished the time spent there with family and friends. Predeceased by Neil in 2000, she is survived by her children, Bill (Pat), Sally Bruce (Rorie), Barbara Ateah (Michael) and her grandchildren Chris and Kathryn; Sara and Kevin. In accordance with Marjorie's wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of her life on Tuesday, May 2, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the home of Bill and Pat, 1334 Wolseley Ave. The family would like to thank the staff of the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg for their care and support. In lieu of flowers. donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba.
