Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET VERNA MURDOCK (QUEEN OF THE WATERFOWL) November 9, 1946 - April 26, 2006 Peacefully surrounded by her family, Margaret Murdock of Fisher River Cree Nation went home to be with the Creator on April 26, 2006 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg at the age of 59 years. Margaret leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 26 years, John Murdock; stepsons, Dennis, Kranston and Vincent; cousins, whom she considered her brothers and sisters, JoAnn (Alva), Wallace (Shirley), Mary, Bethlow (Remi), Eileen (Russell) and Julius (Noreen); brothers, Alvin and Ken; foster son Danny; her dog, Gizmo; her brothers and sisters-in-law; the Asham family; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, too numerous to mention. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Ben and Flora Moar; her uncle John Moar; her aunts, Cecile Moar and Isabelle Norquay; and her grandparents, George and Marion Moar. Margaret worked for Child and Family Services in Winnipeg for many years and she was a foster parent to many children. She was always willing to share what she had with others. Margaret was a very generous person who will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the doctors and staff at the Percy E. Moore Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre 7th Floor ICU, to Fr. Dominique, Sr. Agnes, Rev. John Halcrow, Fisher River Chief and Council, Health Centre staff, Healing Centre staff and the Family Services staff. Wake service will be held on Friday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Steven's Memorial United Church in Fisher River. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 29 at 10:00 a.m. at the Roman Catholic Church in Fisher Branch and also at 2:00 p.m. a service will take place at the Steven's Memorial United Church in Fisher River.
