GUY BERARD October 2, 1951 - April 26, 2006 Peacefully on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, Guy Bérard passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn his passing, his devoted wife of 34 years, Doris (née Rioux); his daughter Maxine; his son Joël (Brigitte); his daughter Renée (Joël) and two grandchildren, Mikka and Azrael. He is survived by family members, his father Aimé; his mother Suzanne; his sisters, Jeannette (Maurice in BC), Anne, Doris Mooney, Rita, Veronique Beach (Terry); his brothers, Jacques (Angèle), Lucien (Diane). Guy was predeceased by two brothers, Ernest and Marc and by his sister Marie Paule. He will be greatly missed by his in-laws, Thérèse Rioux, Anita Catellier (Donald), Denis Rioux (Rickie), Gilbert Rioux (Lorette), Etienne Rioux (Rita) and many nephews and nieces. After working many years for St. Pierre Dairy, Guy became a plumber, working in various areas of Manitoba and Ontario. A lover of nature, Guy spent many enjoyable hours camping, gardening, hunting and fishing. The family would like to thank Dr. Latosinsky, Tom Roch and staff at the CancerCare at HSC, Dr. Strank and staff at St. Pierre De Salaberry District and Health Centre, Shirley Rochon, spiritual caregiver and supportive neighbour, Pauline Gosselin, palliative care nurse. To the many friends and treasured co-workers who visited, phoned, and were a shoulder to cry on, thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. Funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. A. Lalonde at the St. Pierre Roman Catholic Church in St. Pierre-Jolys on Monday, May 1 at 3:00 p.m. Interment will take place in the St. Pierre Parish Cemetery following the mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Guy's memory to the DeSalaberry and District Health Foundation, St. Pierre-Jolys, MB R0A 1V0. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220.
