WILLIAM (BILL) PLISCHKE (June 29, 1909 - April 27, 2006) With deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He died peacefully with family at his side. Bill was predeceased by his wife Julia (1990); infant son Theodore (1937); parents, Michael and Julia; brothers, Rienald, Gustav and Frank; sisters, Edith Kutcy and Lena Molinski. He is survived by his brother Harold (Geraldine), sister Annie Pfeifer and sister-in-law Rose. Dad will be lovingly missed by sons, Lawrence (Ruby), Alfred (Audrey), Gerald (Mary-Lou); grandchildren, Shannon Plischke and Daryl (Alan) Litke, Ian, Audra (Jeff) and Kyle Plischke, Gerald (Lori) and Daniel (Theresa) Plischke; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was born in Thalberg, MB. As a youth during The Great Depression he sought employment wherever he could, from Alberta to Ontario. It was in Rossport that he met his Julia. They married and lived happily together for 56 years, in places like Thalberg, Greenwald, Beausejour and Winnipeg. They were people of faith and family. Bill was a man of many talents - from farming to business - but he was best known as an excellent carpenter, a lover of nature, especially hunting, fishing, gardening and later, as a champ in shuffleboard. We wish to extend sincere thanks to the people of the Cottonwood who helped Dad make his apartment his home, to his home care providers and to the health care staff, doctors and nurses at Concordia Hospital 3NE. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Alphonsus Church, 300 Donalda Ave. on Tuesday, May 2, at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Louis Vielfaure officiating. Viewing will be possible from 9:30 a.m. at the church with interment at Green Acres Cemetery. Pall bearers will be his sons and grandsons. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dad's memory to a charity of your choice. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy. No. 1 E. at Navin, (204) 222-3241
