Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPHINE (JOSIE) LEATHWOOD On April 23, 2006 Josie peacefully passed away at the age of 67 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. Lovingly remembered by her husband Bob; children, Karen (Ross) Fenske, Judy (Mike) Barker; grandchildren, Wesley, Adam, Rachael, Matthew, Amy; all of Port Alberni, BC; also by her sister-in-law, Marilyn Duma. Josie was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Katherine Duma and her brother Frank Duma. Josie was a thoughtful, loving, understanding and generous woman. Her greatest joy was bringing family and friends together for many laughs and games. Her passion for caring for others was witnessed through the endless meals, baking and cards of encouragement that she provided for celebrations and those in need. Even during her illness, she continued to show her concern for others. She canvassed for Heart Stroke, Kidney, Cancer and Lung Foundations for over 25 years and was a valuable leader with the Ladies UCW at Fort Garry United Church since 1972. The family would like to thank the staff of the CancerCare Centre at Grace Hospital and Riverview Health Centre. Special thanks to nurse Shelley Elhatton, and all who visited and supported Josie during her illness. We invite you to a celebration of Josie's life on Tuesday, May 2 at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Garry United Church, 800 Point Rd. with interment to follow at Thomson In the Park Cemetery.
