DAVID (MONTY) MONTGOMERY SCLANDERS Peacefully on April 27, 2006 at the Tuxedo Villa Extendicare facility, Monty passed away at the age of 87. Monty was predeceased by his wife Shirley (1990), and will be remembered by sons Dave (Carolyn), Donald (Barbara) and daughter Janice (Don) McKenzie. His granddaughters, Jessica, Rachel, Melissa, Lindsay and Kelsey brought him many hours of great joy and were a source of much pride. Born in Winnipeg July 30, 1918, Monty spent his early years at the T. Eaton Company where he met his wife Shirley. Minaki Lodge, Advance Maintenance, God's Lake Lodge, St. Boniface Golf Course and Travel Manitoba were some of the variety of employers who benefited from Monty's sales and marketing skills over his 50 years of his working life. Dad was a 60 year member of Masons (Beaver Lodge Branch 139) having served all degrees including Worshipful Master. Monty was appointed Very Worshipful Brother and a Past Master (1954). He was also a member of the Scottish Rite having past all 32 degrees and a member of the Shrine Khartum Temple. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to Louise, Joyce, Sue, Ivy, Laurie and Pat at Extendicare Tuxedo Villa who were among Dad's favourites and always spent extra time with him during his stay. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations can be made in Monty's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation Funeral Service will be held at Westworth United Church, 1750 Grosvenor St. at 11:00 a.m., Thursday May 4.
