GORDON ALEXANDER SCOTT Gordon was born in Saskatoon, SK on January 8, 1923 and passed away after a long term illness on April 26, 2006 at the Grace Hospital. Son of Frank and Ida Scott; beloved husband of Doreen; father of Stephen F. (Chantal Bibeau) of Montreal; brother to Eileen Underhill (Bill) of Unionville, ON, Donald (Ruth) of Kincardine, ON and Arthur who was killed in action in Sicily in the Second World War. Gordon's parents homesteaded in Saskatchewan then moved to New Toronto where he grew up Gordon joined the Royal Canadian Army to serve with the Royal Canadian Signal Corp. and operated RADAR units when they were still top secret. He served in Italy, France, Germany and Holland from 1941 to 1946. After he was discharged he attended the University of Toronto in the Institutional Management Course. He worked in various hotels throughout the country and came to Winnipeg in September of 1976 as an instructor in Hotel and Restaurant Management at Red River College. He retired in 1998. Gordon and Doreen liked to travel and did so while health permitted. Gordon will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 1, 2006 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. by Fr. Mark Tarrant. Interment and reception will follow. If desired, remembrances may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9 or to a charity of one's choice in Gordon's memory.
