Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKIRSTEN SCHIOLER (nee PONTOPPIDAN) Peacefully, on April 28, 2006 in Ottawa after a short illness in her 95th year. Born in Aarhus, Denmark, she immigrated to Canada in her teens with her parents. Lived in Winnipeg for 42 years before moving to Ottawa. Independent in her own apartment until February of this year. Sustained through good times and bad by a deep Christian faith. Predeceased by her beloved husband Knud, brother Hans Henning and sister Anete Brandi-Hansen. Sorely missed by brother Erik (Inge) in Copenhagen, son John (Alexa), granddaughter Tegan and Alexa's children Andrea (Peter), Christopher and Robin, as well as many members of the Schioler, Pontoppidan, Olmsted and Topping families. Fondly remembered by a host of friends in the Christian community and by others around the world, with whom she maintained close contact over the years. Family interment at Elmwood Cemetery, Winnipeg, on Thursday, beside her late husband. The family wishes to thank all those who wrote, called or visited Kirsten during her final weeks of life.
