SIGRIDUR JOHANNA GUDRUN ERLENDSON On Sunday, April 30, 2006, Josie Erlendson, aged 90 years of Arborg, passed away at the Arborg Personal Care Home. She is survived by three children, Bernice and Pall Vigfusson of Killarney, MB, Brian Erlendson and Pam Scott of Halifax, Karen and Jim Millard of Brandon; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister Kristrun Bolton of Winnipeg. Predeceased by her husband Thorarinn (Toti) in 1994 and son Thor (Joey) in 1975. Born July 13, 1915 at Gimli, MB, she married Thorarinn Erlendson in 1932 and they farmed in the Frammes District until their move to Arborg in 1942. Josie worked as a cook for many years in Arborg and up north before retiring in 1976. Mom enjoyed watching hockey and curling on T.V. and in her younger years she curled herself. She also enjoyed knitting and baking. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 3 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church. Pastor Trudy Thorarinson will officiate. Interment will take place in Vidir Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Arborg Personal Care Home in memory of Mom. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home, in care of arrangements.
