JAMES PAUL FRANK ROWAN 1960 - 2006 It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of our beloved husband, father, son, brother, cousin and friend on April 28, 2006 in Edmonton, AB at the age of 45. Besides his wife Lee-Anne, he is survived by his daughter Amanda and fiancé Kevin Krivda; his three sons, Cole (11), Cameron (10), Alec (8). He also leaves to mourn his passing, his parents, Leo and Rosemary; grandmother Phyllis McDonald; his sisters, Kathy Gereta, Colleen Paulusma (Tim), Sharon Vincent (Archie) and Terry (Ed); and the Bro he never had Al Rowan (Brenda). Also sister-in-law Wendy (Leonard) Casavant. He will also be sadly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, Anita mother of Amanda and good buddies George, Fran, Cal and John, plus other countless friends and co-workers. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Alec and Genevieve Rowan and Robert Deveson as well as aunt Marguerite Hjorth and best bud Pete Gard. James was born in St. Boniface, destined to be the only boy stuck in the middle of four sisters. His most cherished childhood memory was going hunting with his father (and probably tormenting his four sisters.) He was the family comic and could always get out of trouble by making his mother laugh. He spent his teen years in St. George, MB, where he met and married the mother of his daughter. These years were filled with music, mayhem, and motorcycles...and of course magic; the birth of his only daughter. This chapter of his life as well as his first marriage did come to an end but he remained friends with his ex-wife and her family. He carried with him many happy memories of those sometimes challenging years. He met his current wife Lee-Anne in 1992 and fell in love with her innocent gullibility (a practical joker's dream wife!) Three sons and 14 years later he could still pull her leg and tug on her heartstrings. Our darling desperado's journey took him from working at Inco in Thompson, to Econo - Job printers and eventually construction, where he got his journeyman ticket in mechanical insulating. He worked several years at Environmental Insulation Controls Inc. and companies in Local 99. He spoke highly of his boss Rod Collignon who went above and beyond for him and of his travel partner Ian Neufeld (Melissa) who was a friend extraordinaire. His co-workers affectionately called him Ames , a name they long mistook him for because the J had been accidentally scraped off the name James on his hard hat. His trade took him to Edmonton, where he happily looked forward to a new beginning. His heart was filled with incredible love and pride for his daughter who is soon to be married and his three young sons who worshipped their dad. Sadly his journey ended when this heart stopped beating. He has not crossed a single path in this journey that has not left behind a lifelong friend. He was our comedian, our prankster, our impractical joker. He was our John Belushi, our John Candy, our Chris Farley, and it breaks our heart that this will be the last time he will be taking centre stage. The man who could make us laugh so hard will make us cry all the harder for all that could have been and all that was. We cannot believe the show is overyou will be missed! Good-night Jim-Bob. The memorial service will be held on Friday, May 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H.,V.F. officiating.
