SIMON MANDEVILLE TURNER November 2, 1940 - May 2, 2006 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Simon Mandeville Turner, at his home in Winnipeg, on Tuesday, May 2, 2006. Simon will be forever missed by his wife of 30 years, Kathryn Elaine (Delbarre); his mother in England, Audrey Penn Turner; his brother in France, Peter Turner (Lindsay), his brother in Ireland, Charlie Marks (Carolyn); and their families. He was also a much loved son-in-law to Jean and Clancy Delbarre; and a special brother-in-law to Kelvin Delbarre. Simon will be greatly missed by many loving friends, including Bob and Jackie Rutherford of Ottawa; and by his special friend, Gemma. He dearly loved his father, John Mandeville Turner, who predeceased him in 1991. On Monday, May 8 at 10:00 a.m., Simon's funeral service will be held in Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Ave. (Corner of Mount Royal Road and Ness Avenue). For those who wish, parking will be available in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church parking lot located on Ness Avenue. A memorial service will be held in Ottawa, Simon's home for more than 30 years, at a later date. Our family would like to thank all the dear friends who supported Simon and Kathy in his final illness. Special thanks to Dr. Ralph Wong, Dr. Fiona Crowe and to the Palliative Care team at St. Boniface Hospital for their kind and caring treatment. We also appreciate very much the nurses and caregivers, who enabled Simon to be at home during his final weeks, as this meant so much to him. If friends so desire, donations in Simon's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. I have clinched and closed with the naked North, I have learned to defy and defend; Shoulder to shoulder we have fought it out yet the wild must win in the end. Robert Service Simon's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 4665
