Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDARLENE ETHYLE REIERSON (nee HURDAL) June 26, 1938 - April 29, 2006 Darlene Ethyle Reierson, aged 67 years of Flin Flon, MB, and formerly of Roblin and Lynn Lake, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at Roblin District Health Centre, Roblin, MB. Darlene Ethyle Hurdal was born June 26, 1938 at Birch River, MB, a daughter of Valdimar and Ethyle (nee Corbett) Hurdal. Darlene attended Birch River School and then moved with her family to Lynn Lake, MB. Darlene worked at the drug store in Lynn Lake. On January 9, 1955 Darlene was united in Holy Matrimony to Glen Reierson and they celebrated 51 years of married life together. Darlene and Glen resided in Lynn Lake for 35 years and then moved to Roblin, MB. in 1986. In 2004 Darlene and Glen retired and moved to Flin Flon. Darlene held many positions in her lifetime; however her main passion was all the foster children she had taken into her home over the years. She also loved camping, fishing, hunting, and spending summers at their cabin at Berge Lake, just outside of Lynn Lake. Darlene was predeceased in death by her parents, Valdimar and Ethyle Hurdal; daughter Sandra Gail; and infant sons, Lional and Leslie. Surviving to mourn Darlene's death and cherish many fond memories are her beloved husband Glen Reierson of Flin Flon, MB; daughters, Kim (Alan) MacKinnon of Scotland, Lori (Gerry) Sullivan of Thompson, MB; sons, Wayne (Geoffrey) Reierson of Niagara Falls, ON, Randy Reierson of Lynn Lake, MB, Michael (Kyla) Reierson of Flin Flon, MB, Sam (Holly) Reierson of Minnedosa, MB. Grandchildren, Leslie (Suzanne), Jennifer (Steve), Jessica (Danny), Jocelyn, Ross, Ian, Flora, Kyle, Cole, Riley and Asia. Great-grandchildren, Kevin, Mia, Kaylee, Rebecca, Brenden and Ethan. Brothers and sisters, Shirley Plaskett of Kamloops, Sharon (Larry) Eye of Westwold, Dianne (Tibor) Babas of Grimbsy, Fern Knysh of Winnipeg, Dawn Brock of Thunder Bay, Durrell (Joyce) Hurdal of Flin Flon, Dode (Heidi) Hurdal of Stony Plain, Dale (Ann) Hurdal of Penticton, Ronnie (Ed) Malcome of Whitehorse, Wade (Joanne) Hurdal of Kamloops, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Darlene will also be fondly remembered by many friends in Lynn Lake, Roblin and Flin Flon. A Service of Comfort was held Tuesday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m. from Knox United Church, Roblin, MB, with Rev. David Maxwell officiating. The organist, Mrs. Betty Wenner, led Knox United Church Choir and the congregation in signing the hymns The Old Rugged Cross , Rock of Ages and Amazing Grace . A reception followed the service in the Hall of Knox United Church. Another Service of Comfort will be held Monday, May 8 at 2:00 p.m. from Northminster United Church, Flin Flon, MB, with Rev. Janis Campbell officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Lynn Lake, MB. Memorial gifts to honour the life of Darlene Ethyle Reierson may be made to The Children's Wish Foundation, Manitoba Chapter, 350 St. Mary's Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2.
