Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMILY LILLIAN HALLSON (nee STRATTON) Emily Lillian Hallson, (nee Stratton), born October 7, 1919 went peacefully to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on May 4, 2006 from the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg. She is predeceased by three husbands, Stefan Stefansson, 1956, Elmer Stefansson, 1987 and Mike Hallson, 2004. She is survived by her seven children, Jo-Ann (husband Peter), Lillian, Roberta (husband John), Stefan, Linda, Don (wife Devika), Susan (husband Barrett), 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews who affectionately called her Auntie Em . This energetic little woman of Icelandic-Scotch descent loved her family and was dedicated to serving and giving to them. She started her married life in Winnipeg where she had her seven children, then after the death of her first husband (Stefan) she re-married and spent 27 wonderful years on a family farm in Lundar, MB. After the death of her second husband Elmer, she married Mike and spent eight wonderful years with him in Lundar, until his tragic fall in 1996. She moved back to Winnipeg and spent the rest of her days in Winnipeg. In 1988 she had cancer and was about to die, but she met Jesus at that time, and He brought her through. Her favourite Hymn became Amazing Grace . She was always very active, cross-country skiing and biking and hiking until her late 70s. She loved to knit, knitting many afghans, sweaters and baby sets. She was an excellent artist, painting many beautiful paintings for her family. She also wrote poems and stories, and her sense of humor was very evident. She also enjoyed singing and was in the Melodiers singing group in Lundar. She helped with Meals on Wheels In Lundar. The first eight years of her marriage with Mike, they enjoyed travelling many places together, until Mike's tragic fall in 1996. Then she spent eight years visiting Mike daily in the care home, a very devoted wife. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family, having touched many lives during her lifetime and drawing them into her circle of love. The memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 9, 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Rock (chapel), 1397 Buffalo Pl., Fort Garry, Winnipeg. Interment will take place at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace General Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7.
