BRENDA MAUREEN HOFFMAN (nee SWINTAK) Brenda passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday May 3, 2006 in the loving company of Al, Lee and pets Sandy and Mandy following a brave and determined battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving family, husband Al; mother Inez (Lee); father Morris; sister Debbie (Omer); nephews, Jason (Lauri Jane) and Christopher; brother Terry (Jane); nephews Thomas and Ian; sister Susan (Rick); nieces Christine and Katie; grandmother (Amma) Evelyn; mother-in-law Lee; brother-in-law Bruce (Celine); sisters-in-law Patti (Owen), Dawn (Kelly); niece Shelby as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Brenda was born in Gimli, MB on May 18, 1957 and grew up in Winnipeg where she graduated from Silver Heights Collegiate and went on to receive her B.Sc from the University of Winnipeg. Brenda and Al moved to Delta, BC in 1998 where she continued to work as a Customs Broker with George H. Young and part time at the Delta Safeway until her illness. Brenda was a multi-talented athlete enjoying basketball, baseball, kayaking and curling to name a few. She was also a gifted seamstress and baker to the delight of her friends and family. Never critical, always supportive, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Thank you to Dr. Janice Fitzpatrick, Delta Homecare nurses and support workers, Drs. and staff at B.C. Cancer Agency, Vancouver General Hospital and caring friends, neighbors and co-workers. On behalf of Brenda's family and friends, we would like to extend a special thank you to Christine for keeping us informed and to Al's mother Lee for all her support for Brenda and Al through these last few months.
