JOSEPHINE AMES (nee BERNARD) March 1, 1917 May 3, 2006 Peacefully, on May 3, 2006, Josephine passed away at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 89 years, with her family at her side. Josephine was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Carman, in 1990; by her three sisters Irene, Bertha and Olive and by her brother Omer. She is survived by her daughter Carol (Vic) and son Neil (Donna); also remembered by a special niece Denise Elias. She leaves to remember her life six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Josephine was born in Transcona and raised in the Pinawa area. She met and married her husband during the war years then later moved to St. Boniface where she eventually retired. Her lifelong work was being a homemaker and she enjoyed baking, knitting and crocheting, creating gifts for those she loved. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2006 at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 E. at Navin Road. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery.
