DOROTHY CHIPMAN (ECCLESTON) (nee PYTEL) August 27, 1931 May 2, 2006 After many years of ill health, Dorothy Chipman, with her family by her side, passed away peacefully at the age of 74 at the Luther Nursing Home. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Robert P. Chipman in 1986; parents, Polly and Wasyl Pytel; sisters, Pearl Kaczor, Olga Duncan; and twin brother Mike Pytel of Chicago. She is survived by her sisters, Diana Rickey, Mary Abgrall, Vera Weremiuk; sister-in-law Jackie Pytel; Robert's children, Bob, Peter of Shelbourne, NS and Marilyn Jackson of Mississauga, ON; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Dorothy was born, raised and educated in Winnipeg. She enjoyed sports, music, was very talented in many fields and excelled in fashion and window design. She and her husband Bob were members of the St. Charles Country Club where they enjoyed a good game of golf. Dorothy was also an avid bowler. They were both members of the Breeders Association, owning and racing horses at Assiniboia Downs. They loved to travel. The family would like to thank the staff at the Luther Home for their many kindnesses and compassion shown to Dorothy over the past years. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Luther Home, 1081 Andrews St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to the Luther Nursing Home at 1081 Andrews St., Winnipeg, MB R2V 2G9 or a charity of your choice. Dorothy will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Rest in peace. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
