ROBERT J. STOKES (1938 2006) May 3rd, 2006, suddenly, at the age of 68, Robert (Bobby) James Stokes passed away at the Health Sciences Centre. Bobby was born in Winnipeg on February 8, 1938. He was predeceased by his father Harold, mother Helen, and brother George. Bobby is survived by his brother Bill (Mary Lou); his brother Chuck (Lynne); sister-in-law Betty; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In May 2005 Bobby retired from the Union Centre at 275 Broadway after 19 years of service. He also spent many years employed by Salisbury House and caretaking various blocks. Bobby enjoyed spending time at the ANAF John Osborn #1 Club and at the Royal Canadian Legion #1 on Sargent Ave. A celebration of Bobby's life will be held May 10 at 1:00 p.m. at ANAF John Osborn #1 at 300 1395 Ellice Ave. Flowers are graciously declined. In lieu of flowers if so desired donations can be placed in Bobby's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba (200 6 Donald St.) or to CancerCare Manitoba (675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg).
