Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN (KAY) WHITMAN (nee CHESKY) It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden passing of Kay Whitman on Friday, May 5, 2006 at the age of 73. Kay will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by daughters Christine Whitman and Karen Homeward; grandchildren, Janine Little and Andrew Whitman; great-granddaughter Alexa Whitman; brothers Bill (Helen) Chesky, Don (Linda) Chesky; sister Anna Godin; many nieces and one nephew; brother-in-law James (Arlie) Whitman. She was predeceased by her loving husband Jack; infant son William Whitman; mother Nettie Chesky and father William Chesky. Kay was born, raised and educated in Winnipeg. As a young girl she delivered Liberty Magazine and worked as a pinsetter at Campbell's Bowling Alley on Main Street. When she was still a teenager she started to work at Paulin Chambers in 1948. She met her husband Jack there and they were married in 1954. After her children were born, she worked the evening shift at Paulin's for many years. Mom enjoyed macramé and ceramic crafts. We'll enjoy having her handiwork for years to come. She also enjoyed the many Saturday drives or as she put it Dad's Scenic Tours all over southern Manitoba and the Interlake. Her most enjoyable vacation with Dad was their driving through the Wisconsin Dells. She will always be remembered for her dedication to her children and grandchildren. We will always remember her for her great family meals and all of the baking for special occasions. She was always there when we needed her. We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to the paramedics and firefighters and to the doctors, nurses and staff in emergency, 3rd floor unit U4 and ICU at Seven Oaks Hospital for their excellent care and compassion. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 10 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment will be on Thursday, May 11 at 1:30 p.m. at Transcona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kay's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 300 6 Donald St. Winnipeg MB R3L 0K6 or a charity of your choice. Condolences may be emailed to cropo@mts.net. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
