STEVE (STOFFER) VANDERMAAR After a courageous five year battle with cancer, the Lord took Steve Vandermaar home. Steve peacefully passed away on May 4, 2006 at Concordia Hospital at age 81. Steve is remembered with love by his wife of 54 years, Teenie (nee Venhuizen); children (and grandchildren); John and Linda (Melissa), Linda and Brady (Katherine, Steven), Henry (Jesse), Peter and Janet; sisters, Metjes, and Grietje; and many relatives, friends and neighbours. Predeceased by nine of his siblings and his grandson Dustin. Steve was born in Aduart, Holland on April 13, 1925. In 1952 he married Teenie (Trijnje) and they immigrated to Canada. Steve worked for the City of Winnipeg for 28 years. He was a faithful member of the Christian Reformed Church. He enjoyed woodworking, camping and fishing with his family and friends. Steve was a kind and generous man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Our family wishes to thank Dr. P. Harris and the staff at Concordia Hospital. Also, special thanks to Debbie and John. A memorial service will be held Friday May, 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 653 Knowles Avenue, Winnipeg.
