FRANK ADAM SWIRSKI 1917 - 2006 Frank was born in Matlock, MB on October 7, 1917 to Nikolaj Swirski and Michalina Rogowski. He passed away May 7, 2006 at Langley Memorial Hospital, BC with his family by his side. Frank is survived by his wife of 63 years, Josie (Wawryk); his five children; 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Gary - Vincent, Lindsay, Joshua Swirski, Gayle - Robyn Gibson (Andrew) and wee Mackenzie, Graham Borgfjord, Erin Borgfjord (Ben), Sherisse Stevens (Michael), Shelley - Devon, Chase and Ciara Cownden, Mark (Gay) - Haeden and Mikayla Swirski. He is also survived by his brother Joe (Blanche) and sister Helen Kreamer (Lloyd) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by sister Mary Mazur and brothers, John, Mike, Alex and Walter Swirski. Frank was very devoted to his family and both enjoyed and looked forward to times spent with his children and grandchildren. As an avid sportsman his favourites were hockey, golf, billiards and curling, all of which he shared with his family. Frank and Josie farmed for 20 years in Matlock and took great pride in contributing to the community. He was instrumental in the building of the Matlock Recreational Hall serving as the president for several years. Frank and Josie moved to Winnipeg in 1967 where he worked for The Sisters of The Good Shepherd at Marymound School retiring after 18 years. Upon retiring they spent increased amounts of time at their cottage at Winnipeg Beach. In 1990 they moved to Kelowna, BC and later to Langley where he continued to enjoy golf, billiards and curling. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 11 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Parish, 20676 Fraser Hwy., Langley, BC with Fr. Jacinto. Viewing at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's prior to the service. Memorial service and interment to be held at Our Lady of the Lake Church, Winnipeg Beach, MB at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. We would also like to thank Dr. Gary Nataros and the staff of the Langley Memorial Hospital. Frank, Father, Dad, Papa will be sadly missed by his family, friends and relatives. Rest in Peace.
