Date of Passing: May 04, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNIE E. CAIRNS On May 4, 2006, Annie Cairns, of Winnipeg, went home in the presence of her daughter. After marriage, Annie planted the same half acre garden her Mother had, keeping the family supplied with vegetables, while making her family's clothes. Wanting a better life for her family she entered Normal School in 1953, teaching for 15 years in St. James-Assiniboia S.D. prior to attending university and receiving a B. Paed. in 1971. Annie retired in 1981 and maintained an active life with friends, hobbies (lathe woodwork, knitting, painting and drawing) and in recent years helping her daughter, Beth, with projects in her condo. She enjoyed new adventures and travelling and returned home from her last trip. Annie was predeceased by her beloved son, Gordon, in 1954 and her husband, George, in 1977. Mum was a vibrant lady who leaves to mourn her passing many friends, family and her daughter. Mum will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers, please hug someone you love. Annie's life will celebrated at a memorial reception in the Adamar Recreation Room, 110 Adamar Road, Wednesday, May 17, 2006 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
