DANIEL REID On Monday, May 8, 2006, in his 75th year, Daniel Reid peacefully passed from this life to the next. Remaining to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 46 years, Doris; sons, Clark (Lori), Robb (Bonnie), Thom, Andrew (Fiona); grandchildren, Jennifer (Tim), Taylor, Benjamin, Jordan, Rebecca, Emilie; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Thomas; sister Elizabeth; extended family and friends. Daniel was born and raised on Victoria Crescent in St. Vital, MB with the Red River as his backyard. After four proposals, Doris McJannet finally agreed to marry him in 1960. Together they raised four sons who grew to share his love of camping and canoeing. He often joked of having to sell his Porsche to accommodate his growing family. They spent their most memorable years in Thompson, MB, retiring to Killarney, MB in 2001. Daniel will most fondly be remembered as a father who took an active role in raising his sons in their varied pursuits. A celebration of his life was held on Friday, May 12 at New Life Assembly Church in Killarney. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Daniel's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Killarney and Boissevain Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.

It was with extreme sorrow that I heard on May 16/06, of the passing of my old friend Dan Reid. I am deeply sorry that I didn't find out about his passing in time to attend his service and say good bye as I would like to have done. Dan was a person who could bring a smile to your face or have you laughing in an instant no matter how bad your day was. His laugh was infectious and his friendship was true. God speed my friend. Sorry I wasn't there to see you off - Posted by: Wayne Morrissey (Friend) on: May 18, 2006
