DOUGLAS HAMPTON (PAT) TENEY Peacefully on May 8, 2006 at Deer Lodge Centre, beloved husband of Helen Teney (Ayrton) at the age of 91. His wife of 63 years and son Douglas Teney, daughter Sharon Chapman and husband Rod, and grandson Scott Hallstead survives Pat. Pat was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. V.D.S. Teney. He was born in Kennedy, SK, lived in LaFleche and Assiniboia prior to moving to Winnipeg in 1923. He attended Kelvin High School and the University of Manitoba. He served with distinction for five years in the RCAF during the Second World War as a pilot with the rank of Flight Lieutenant. He served in the British Commonwealth Air Training Command until being posted overseas with 436 Squadron. He received Honorary Wings from the Belgian Government. His business career of 44 years was spent with the Continental Group. He was a member of the Winnipeg Executives Association and the Sales and Ad Club. Pat enjoyed sports with his favorites being curling and golf. He was a active and long time member of the Granite Curling Club and the Niakwa Country Club. He was fine and honorable man who enjoyed a long and happy life, taking pleasure from his many close friendships and loving family. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 17, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends wishing may make a donation in memory of Pat to the charity of one's choice.
