DAVID BROWN 1942 - 2006 Peacefully, with family members and friends at his side David has now gone to be with Jesus. His wife of 33 years, Sally, stood by his side holding his hand as she had always done until the very end and will love him forever. He was a devoted father to both Kelly and his wife Sonja, and Papa to his grandchildren, Keenan and Ariana. No family could have asked for a sweeter, more loving man then he was. Others sharing our love for David, are his cousins, Tony Collis and Bruce Corness, brother-in-law, Cec and sister-in-law Diane Sereda, his two nephews Jason and Jaret Sereda, friends Ted and Sharon Purvis for more then 30 years as well as so many others. David was born on August 31, 1942 in Fort William, ON. After working for a period of time for IAC and Chrysler Credit he then spent 30 years at Scotiabank where he enjoyed friendships with many of the co-workers and clients. David created many wonderful memories for us during the summers spent at Gull Lake, always with a dog or two at his side. David and Sally were fortunate that they were able to go to Maui each winter for several years. This past winter when his cancer was in remission he had his entire little family come out for a couple of weeks and it was one of the happiest times of his life. Most special moments for David were his walks on the beach every morning with Ariana, who he called his Princess from the time she was born, and the pleasure he got from watching Keenan spending hours in the ocean with the huge waves going over his head or hanging out at the pool. Even when he was sick he tried to see as many of Keenan's hockey games as he could and never missed any of Ariana's dance recitals. He loved them both so very much. David was also so very proud of the wonderful son he had in Kelly and thought Sonja, whom he had known since she was little more then a child, had grown into a beautiful, kind and loving young woman. He always said he had a wonderful family. A Celebration of David's Life will take place on Monday, May 15, 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with a reception to follow. A private interment will precede the service. Standing as honorary pallbearers, are David's grandson, Keenan, his two Godson's Darcy and Sean Purvis, Ted Purvis Jr, Ted Purvis Sr. brother-in-law Cec Sereda, and nephews, Jason and Jaret Sereda. A very special thank you to Dr. Pat Harris, and nurses Carol, Valerie and Nancy, David's wonderful caregivers at the Oncology Clinic, at the Concordia Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations in David's memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Winnipeg Humane Society. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
