WOOD May 26, 1913 - May 11, 2006 Peacefully, with his daughters at his side, Lorne went to meet his Saviour and to be reunited with Minn. He will be missed by his daughters, Lynne Sherba (Ray) and Shirley Vickery (Gary); four grandchildren, Lori, Karen, David and Timothy and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly and prayed for daily. Lorne was employed by North American Lumber from 1936 to 1976, excluding four years of service in the RCAF. In his retirement years, Dad remained active by overseeing the construction of the present Calvary Temple sanctuary. Dad also worked with World Vision assisting more than 100 refugees in settling successfully in Winnipeg. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his strong faith, quick wit, woodworking skills, wisdom, travel adventures and the joy he found in his family. Thank you to the staff and friends at Sterling House for your good humour and many kindness shown Dad. A private interment has been held. A memorial service will take place in the Buntain Chapel of Calvary Temple, Hargrave at Cumberland on Monday, May 15 at 1:30 p.m. Donations may be made in Lorne's memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 1101 - 191 Lombard Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 0X1 or to the Calvary Temple World Missions.
