MICHAEL BLAINE (RAY) NYKIFORUK It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Micheal Blaine (Ray) Nykiforuk, on Friday, May 5, 2006, at his home in St. Clement, MB, with his family at his side, at the age of 58 years. Left with fond memories are his wife Susan Lynn; sons, Todd (Dalene), Richard (Candace); daughters, Carrie (Brian), Mystie (Rick) and Connie (Todd); his one and only sister Norine; brothers, Dean and Larry; mother-in-law Lillian; as well as many grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Richard; mother Irene Emma; father Richard Metro; and father in-law Bertram. On October 26, 1947, Ray was born in Edson, AB to Richard Metro Nykiforuk and Irene Emma Laronde. He graduated high school in British Columbia in 1966. After high school, Ray's travels took him to Thompson, MB, where he ended up working for INCO for 33 years. By the end of his career, he held many qualifications for a wide range of welding applications. He was an extremely skilled tradesman. Ray met and married his wife Susan Lynn in June of 1974, where together they raised a combined family of six. He had many interests ranging from hunting, fishing, target shooting, rebuilding cars, welding and socializing with his friends, but one of the things he loved the most was going to the cottage every summer, where he spent good quality time with his family doing his favorite past time - exploring the woods with his kids. Ray also liked to teach young people his skills whenever he could. He was a Cub Scout leader for many years and worked hard to be able to give any child the knowledge to succeed. A private family funeral service was held in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's All Beliefs and Faiths Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue at Sharp Blvd. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Ray's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter, 3062 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3K 0Y1. Ray's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 4665
