WILLIAM (BILL) MUSGRAVE MACKEN September 6, 1911 - May 11, 2006 Bill has left us to go home to be with Jesus. Bill was predeceased by his wife Ida, March 1, 1998; sister Norah, May 3, 2001; mother, July 1971; his father and two younger brothers. Bill is survived by his son Richard and wife Mary; three grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren Julie and Richard Warren; sons, Nathan and Owen; Chris and Colleen Macken and children, Luke, Joseph, Jett and Mercedes; Lisa and Martin Klassen and children, Hannah and son Gabriel. Bill lost his father early in his childhood and became the bread winner at an early age. He started working for the C.N.R and continued his education at night school. Bill retired in 1971 with 45 years service in various capacities of Administration and Supervision. Dad served his country in the Second World War at the British Commonwealth Pilot training center at Souris, MB and various other locations in Canada. Bill was an avid sport player. He played baseball for the Norwood Hawks, played hockey and was a member of the C.N.R. Snow Valley Ski Patrol. Bill and Ida vacationed in the Whiteshell for many years finally building a cottage at Betula Lake in 1954. Bill and Ida spent all their spare time at the cottage as they were both avid outdoors people. Dad requested that he be allowed to depart quietly so a private family service will be held. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bill's memory to a charity of one's choice. CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715
