VIOLET IRIS GARTSIDE July 17, 1922 - May 12, 2006 With sadness and fond memories, we announce the passing of our dear mother, Violet Iris Gartside (nee Laugher). Vi's memory will be forever cherished by her loving family, Colin, Bruce (Brenda), David, Eric and Lucy Jane; grandchildren, Tori, Karen (Tom), Crystal, April, Ryan, Brian (Candice) and Stephen; great-grandchildren, Angelina and Vinnie, as well as close family and friends. Vi was predeceased by her loving husband, Arnold; son, Keith, and beloved family dog, Red. We love her and miss her deeply. The family would like to thank the St. Boniface Hospital staff for their compassionate support. Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends desire, donations may be made in Vi's memory to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Winnipeg Humane Society. For the many people whose lives Vi touched, we invite you to attend a memorial service, which will be held on Saturday, May 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. I am Keelie and I was named after her. I haven't met her but One of the last things she wanted to do was make me a baby blanket. Karen made it for her and gave it to me.
