GORDON REID Peacefully, on Friday, May 12, 2006, surrounded by family, Gord passed away at Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 78 years. Gord is survived and will be lovingly remembered by his wife Joan; children, Eric (Peggie), Jeff, Ruth Lowen (Brian), Krista, and Michael (Robin); grandchildren, Andrel, Genevieve, Sarah, Gordie and Michael; sister Bunty Karlowski; brother Walter; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gord was born in Brandon, MB coming to Winnipeg at a young age. Gord began his cycling career delivering telegrams as a youth in the 1940's. He started skiing with the Puffin Ski Club in Winnipeg. He opened Gord's Ski Centre in 1961, which is still operated today by family. Gord had a lengthy involvement in and love of the sports community in Winnipeg. He was a member of the Manitoba Ski Hall of Fame. The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre CD3 for their care and compassion.
