MITCHELL SCHACHTER Peacefully, on April 26, 2006, Mitchell Schachter passed away at the age of 87. After 63 years of marriage, he is mourned by his beloved wife Bess; his children, Rivian (Brian), Murray (Brenda); his grandchildren, Asher (Amanda), Josepha (Gareth), Michael (Tammy), Mark; his great-grandchildren, Chaim, Leila, Joseph, Zachary, and Samantha. He also leaves his sister Molly; brother Albert (June); sisters-in-law, Marion, Nell, Sunny; his brothers-in-law, Sam (Rita), Bill (Elaine); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Anne (Israel), brother Joe, brothers-in-law Morris, Sam, Maurice and Joe. Mitchell was a great source of strength for Bess, a source that she can draw on through the years to come. Mitchell believed in grasping the day, and did so with creativity and humour. He thought and spoke positively of others. He enjoyed pastimes which included golf, bridge, fishing and crossword puzzles. Working with his wife at his side, he provided well for his family. The family would like to thank Dr. Brendan McDougall for many years of devoted care. If desired, donations can be made to the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue, Rabbi Green Fund, CancerCare Manitoba, or to the charity of your choice.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family of founding member Harley Schachter from Schachter Duboff Edwards Law Corporation. Mr. Schachter's nephew Bryan was my respite worker when I was in grade 10, Gordana attended Grant Park High School when I was in grade seven, and I had the pleasure to deliver a presentation on autism at Norquay School during an inservice when Mr. Schachter's sister was a teacher in the department of Specialized Education. Mrs. Billinkoff's friend Linda is the best specialist that I've ever had and I am grateful to rely on Dr. Sawyer for my peace of mind. - Posted by: Philip (Not related) on: Dec 10, 2021
