Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEON DIDUCH September 16, 1915 - May 13, 2006 Peacefully, at his home, Leon passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at the age of 90 years. Leon was predeceased by his wife Louise, of 40 years, in 1983; his second wife Mary, of 14 years, in 2001; as well as his sister Mary and brother Harry. Left to cherish his memory are his four children, Gary (Lenore), Charlotte (Robert Stalker), Wayne (Lilliane) and Cindy (Frank Perillo); his six grandchildren, Jason (Tracy), Rodney (Charlynne), Jeffrey (Cristina), Lisa (Beschier), Joanne (Michael) and Amber; 13 great-grandchildren and his loving dog Candy. Dad is also survived by his brothers, Bill and Tony of Toronto; sister Olive of Winnipeg; sisters/brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends too numerous to name. Leon was born in Brokenhead, MB, where he was raised by his grandparents and spent his early years on the farm. Later he moved to Winnipeg to pursue a career in carpentry. He joined the Army and was stationed in Esquiamquit, BC. Leon married Louise in 1942, when his tour of duty was completed, he returned to Winnipeg to resume his carpentry trade. Leon was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who took pride in and enjoyed being surrounded by his family. Dad was a wise and gentle soul and our hearts soar on memories we share. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 18 at 11:00 a.m., at Klassen Funeral Home, with viewing one half hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his six grandchildren, Jason Stalker, Rodney Diduch, Jeffrey Stalker, Lisa Nagtegaal, Joanne Norris, and Amber Diduch. In lieu of flowers and to honor his loving and generous nature, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
