ADA ELEANOR BRETT (nee ZIPRICK) May 10, 1930 - May 14, 2006 On Sunday, May 14, 2006, at the dawn of a new day and with her loving family by her side, Ada went to be with her heavenly Father. Ada will be sadly missed by John, her husband of 52 years; her children, Debra (Robert) and Craig (Karen); grandchildren, Sarah and Jonathan; mother Julia Ziprick; brother Gerald (Freda); and numerous relatives and very dear friends. Ada was predeceased by her father Adolph; sister Margaret and brother Philip. Born near Inglis, MB, Ada moved to Winnipeg as a young woman. She married John in 1953 and they began raising a family. Her family was always the focal point in her life. Ada's faith was strong and for many years she was involved with church activities; singing in the choir and maintaining the choral music and Resource Centre libraries. She loved to sing and was a member of the Good Companions ladies choir for several years. Ada also enjoyed travelling both near and far, gardening and spending summers at the cottage. Attending her grandchildren's activities was a special joy and they dubbed her the best cook in the entire universe . Ada's funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 18 in Lutheran Church of The Redeemer, 59 Academy Rd., with Pastor James Scholz officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Portage Ave. Our family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Dr. Sheila Domke, as well as the nurses and staff of St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Ward for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ada's memory may be made to Lutheran Church of The Redeemer - Memorial Fund, 59 Academy Rd., Winnipeg, MB, R3M 0E2, or a charity of one's choice.
