IVY CATHERINE SOUTER Peacefully on Monday, May 15, 2006 at the Lions Prairie Manor, Ivy Souter, aged 92, passed away with family at her side. Ivy was born June 7, 1913, the second daughter of Agnes and George Souter. She was raised in Portage la Prairie and attended the Central School and Portage Collegiate Institute. Upon graduation she worked for the Toronto Dominion Bank in Winnipeg, Calgary and Edmonton. After her retirement she returned to live in Portage la Prairie. She was a member of the Trinity United Church. Ivy enjoyed travelling, having travelled around the world. In her later years she particularly enjoyed spending time at the family cabin on Lake of the Woods. Ivy was predeceased by her parents George and Agnes Souter; brothers, James, Louis and George; sisters Agnes Souter and Isobel Rennie; sister-in-law Anne Souter and brother-in-law Dr. John C. Rennie. She leaves to mourn her passing her nieces Merren (Gabriel) Tardivelle of Geneva, Switzerland; Roberta (Chris) Christianson of Portage la Prairie; Cathryn (Don) Reid of Winnipeg; and her nephew John (Sharon) Rennie of Portage la Prairie. Also surviving are her great-nephews and great-nieces Christopher Rennie, Eric Rennie, Andrew Reid, Kristin (Dean) Adams and Keira (Trevor) Rudge. Special thanks are given to Dr. Jim Price and the staff at Lions Prairie Manor for their care and attention given to Ivy in the last few years. Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2006 at Hillside Cemetery, Portage la Prairie at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Julie Baker officiating. Please gather at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel, 56 Royal Road S., at 2:15 p.m. for the procession to the cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Ivy's memory to Lions Prairie Manor Foundation, 24 9th Street SE, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 3V4 or a charity of their choice.
