JOHN (HANS) JANZEN March 27, 1956 - May 15, 2006 After a courageous battle with cancer, John went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Monday, May 15, 2006 at the age of 50 years. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 26 years, Hildy; daughters Christine and Sara; parents Hans and Anny Janzen; mother-in-law Anna Siemens; siblings Irmgard (Willy), Sig (Evelyn), Eric (Jean), Rudy (Sherrie), Helmut (Shelley), Willy (Irm), Erika, many nieces, nephews and friends. John was born in Curitiba, Brazil and at the age of two, together with his parents and siblings moved to Winnipeg, where he resided in North Kildonan the remainder of his life. John took pleasure in spending time with his family, fishing with his brothers and volunteering at the Springfield Heights Church. For the last 19 years he worked at Woodland Supply where he enjoyed his truck driving days. Due to his illness, he was forced to stop working last November. For the past six months John suffered much hardship coping with the disease that would eventually take his life. His strong faith and the support of his family and friends carried him through this very challenging time. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 19, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Springfield Heights Mennonite Church, 570 Sharron Bay, with viewing prior to the service. Interment at Mennonite Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, contributions may be made to Mennonite Church Manitoba for Camp Assiniboia, 200 - 600 Shaftesbury Blvd., Winnipeg, MB R3P 0M4. The family would like to thank all the excellent staff at Riverview Health Centre, CancerCare Manitoba and St. Boniface Hospital for the wonderful care they provided for John this past year.
