GERALDINE (GERRI) MARY SUPEENE (nee Martin) It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their mother and grandmother (Nuko), Geraldine Mary Supeene on Wednesday, May 17, 2006. Gerri leaves to mourn her beloved children, Debbie (Todd) Van Norman of Winnipeg and June (Dave) Toner-Supeene of Edmonton; grandchildren, Jessica, Kole, Tiffaney, Jennifer, Andrew and Tyson; mother Betty Hacbart; brother Robert (Kathy) Bamburger and family of Kitchener, ON; aunt Marge of South Hampton, ON; longtime friends, Judy St. Germain and Mona Scott; pets, Star and Lucy. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents and by a granddaughter Kayla Van Norman. Gerri was born in Walkerton, ON and moved to Winnipeg in 1968. She was a hard worker with a sense of humour. There was never a dull moment when Gerri was around. She was a great entrepreneur; first as co-owner of the Crystal Bay Steak House and then owner of her own Daycare. Her love for children and people extended to her foreign exchange university students as was demonstrated by them in her many gifts from all over the world. Her caring also extended to counseling young women at the Pregnancy Distress Centre. One could always see Gerri riding her bicycle or find her snuggled up reading and listening to music - three of her favourite pastimes. A special thank you to the staff at the Victoria Hospital for their outstanding care. Funeral service 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 20 at Calvary Temple, Buntain Chapel, 400 Hargrave St. with Pastor Bruce Martin officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg MB R3C 2B7. Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee, God wanted me now. He set me free.
