ARTHUR VICTOR WILLIAMS 1916 - 2006 On May 11, 2006, Vic Williams, in his 90th year, passed away peacefully at the Hawkesbury General Hospital, Ontario. He was born in Abertillery, Wales on December 27, 1916 to Winnifred May (nee Marshall) and John Arthur Williams. Vic was the eldest of four brothers: Cyril (Valmai), Desmond (Sheila) and Gordon (Mary). Vic was a beloved and devoted husband to Joan Elizabeth (nee Pavitt) of 62 years and father to Roger (Elizabeth), Peter (Gladys), Patricia, and Stephen (Janyne). He was a loving grandfather to Jonathan, Nicholas, Jodee, Sean, Marc, Matthew, Julia, Jennifer, Brendan, Jack, and Grace and great-grandfather to Clayton, Bailee, Ieuan and Catrin. Vic immigrated to Canada with his young family in 1952 and settled in Ottawa where he became involved with several community organizations. He was an involved member of Bethany Baptist Church, which was a focus of family activities for many years. Vic was a long-standing member and past-Master of Acacia Masonic Lodge 561. He was proud and aware of his heritage and was a member of the Ottawa Welsh Society. A memorial service was held Monday, May 15 in Ottawa. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
