STAN DROZDA It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our friend, brother and uncle, Stanley Andrew Drozda, on May 17, 2006 at Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 72 years. Left to cherish his memory are his loving fiancée of 12 years, Vi Giles; his only sister Stephanie Priestley and long time friend Robert Wiens; as well as many friends, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Stan was predeceased by his long time school friend Joe Sklover. Stanley was born on November 30, 1933, in Winnipeg, the only son of the late William and Katherine Drozda. He was raised and received his education in Winnipeg, attending William Whyte and Aberdeen schools and later St. John's Tech. In 1952, Stan played on the National Championship soccer team. He apprenticed in the electrical field and worked for Shell Canada for 18 years. Stan enjoyed travelling to B.C. and Jamaica which were two of his favourite places. He could always be found dancing if there was a dance floor or not. He was always surrounded by friends and loved to socialize or shop, looking for the best deal. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Parish, 264 Donwood Dr., with Deacon Lawrence officiating. Cremation will follow. Pallbearers will be Robert Wiens, Eddie Solarz, Bryan Degnee, Otto Voth, Keith Emslie, Bert Komadoski, Frank Ladan and Mike Saharchuk. Thanks to all the staff on CD 1 for the care shown to Mr. Stanley . In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Stan's memory to Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4. You never failed to do your best, Your heart was true and tender, You lived your life for those you loved, And those you loved remember. We'll miss you Stan. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
