Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHERINE (KAY) DOERKSEN 1920 2006 On Thursday, May 18, 2006 at Tabor Home, Katherine (Kay) Doerksen, aged 85 years, formerly of Winnipeg went to her eternal rest. Katherine was born and raised in the RM of Thompson. She moved to Winnipeg in the early 1040's where she started a long and distinguished career as a nurse. She was a volunteer in many charitable organizations such as the Huntingdon Society, the Morris Centre, Dystonia Society and the Darwin Elementary School. She moved to Tabor Home in 2004 where she continued to offer a kind word and a helping hand to all she came in contact with. She loved to sing and share God's Word with her fellow residents. She was truly an inspiration to all and will be sadly missed by family and friends. She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter-in-law Lynda Doerksen of Roland; and three grandchildren, Kerry Dueck of Lac du Bonnet, Lee Doerksen and Sean Kotchon (Aimie) both of Winnipeg; five great-grand-children; and six brothers, Leonard of Winnipeg, Herman of Morden, Tony of Winnipeg, Eddie of Morden, Earnie of Morden and Bill Doerksen of Toronto, ON and their families. She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Katrina; one son, Jim (2005) and three brothers Andy, Sonny (Norman) and Henry Doerksen. Public viewing will be at the chapel prior to the service only. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 23, at 2:00 pm at Wiebe Funeral Chapel, 1050 Thornhill St. Morden with Rev. Morris Vincent officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Huntingdon Society of Canada, 151 Frederick St., Suite 400, Kitchener, ON N2H 2M2.
