KATHERINE (KAY) AMBROSE July 7, 1918 May 20, 2006 It is with great sorrow and sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother in her 87th year. Kay is survived by her son Robert (Wpg); daughter Edna (Bill) O'Rourke; grandson Darren (Jenn) O'Rourke and great-granddaughter Kaelen (White Rock, BC); sister Joyce and numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband Fred in 1983; brothers Nick, Joe, Bill; sisters Lena, Mary, Florence and Pauline. Kay was born in Rembrandt, MB to John and Polly Dolinski but raised by her grandparents of whom she was always spoke fondly. She was married in 1938. They farmed in Rembrandt until moving to Winnipeg in 1945, where they went into the restaurant business, owning and operating many dining establishments of which the Jolly Chef on Osborne Street was their favourite. After Dad retired, Mom continued to work for Elett's and Marigold Restaurants until she finally retired when she turned 65. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 23 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Ukrainian Catholic Church, Rembrandt, MB. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kay 's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Road, Wpg MB R2L 1X3.
