JOHANNA (DICK) DYCK 1907 - 2006 Johanna Dyck died peacefully on May 20, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. at the Donwood Manor Personal Care Home, Winnipeg. Johanna was born on the estate Rosenhof in the district of Taurin, Russia on August 21, 1907 and was baptized upon her confession of her faith. Predeceased by her parents Jacob and Agnes (Schroeder)/Anna (Wiens) Dick; Husband Abram; two grandsons, Darcy and Ted Dyck; one great grandson; two sisters Margaret and Helen, and two brothers Nicholai and John. She leaves to mourn her children Anne (Martin) Hamm, Abe (Agnes) Dyck, Helen (John) Pankratz, Peter (Mary) Dyck of Edmonton, Henry (Esther) Dyck, Mary Dyck, Jake (Eleanor) Dyck, Agnes (Frank) DeFehr, John (Margaret) Dyck, and Fred (Beverly) Dyck, 33 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren; four sisters, Hedy Hildebrand of B.C., Agnes Dyck, Lois Peters, Martha Neufeld, one brother, Rudolf Dick, and all their spouses; nephews and nieces and many friends. She spent most of her married life at Newton, busy with raising four children from Dad's first marriage (Maria Dyck deceased) and having six children of her own. Faithfully and dutifully she fed us, bathed us, washed our clothes, mended our tears, healed our broken spirits, planted and cared for a huge garden, loved us all, taught us to be respectful and honest and together with Dad gave us all a great faith based start in life. She loved the Lord with all her heart and showed it to her family. If you tally the numbers there are 118 family members. When calculating and estimating food prepared by Mom it comes to more than 300,000 meals. Food and fellowship were always present at our table. Guests were numerous and life was a hustle and bustle. Mom we loved you and will miss you deeply. May your Crown in Glory be as beautiful as you. Viewing will be on Wednesday, May 24 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main St. Funeral Service on Thursday, May 25 at 10:30 a.m. at East View Community Church, 3500 Devries, East St. Paul. Interment will follow in the Oakville Cemetery at 2:30 P.M. If friends desire, donations may be made to Donwood Manor Personal Care Home, 165 Donwood Dr., Winnipeg.
