GEORGE ATTWELL August 21, 1945 - May 19, 2006 After a brief struggle with cancer, George passed away peacefully, on May 19, 2006, at the Health Sciences Centre. He was predeceased by his parents John and Doris Attwell. George will be sadly missed by his son Alan (Susan); daughter Kathrine (Sean); grandchildren Kieran, Jordan, Kayla. He will be remembered by his sister Mavis and her children Jason, Theresa, and Raquel who reside in England. George will also be missed by his extended family, Marie, many friends, and good friend Siana. George was born and raised in England. He moved to Canada in 1973 with Audrey and his son Alan. George worked for Cloverdale Paint (formerly Northern Paint) as a tinter and foreman for more than 30 years. He enjoyed cars, travelling, outdoor activities, soccer, as well as a pint with a game of darts. George was a hardworking, sociable man who made friends easily, and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. A memorial reception will be held on Thursday, May 25 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca The family would like to thank the staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion.
