ANNE PODOLCHUK Peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2006, Anne passed away at the Whitemouth District Health Centre at the age of 98. Anne is lovingly remembered by her sister Pearl and brother Peter; nephew Harry (Eileen) Papushka; nieces Joan and Fern Papushka; great-nieces, Caren Wegman, Sharon (Jeff) Goy and great-nephew David (Kathleen) Papushka and five great-great-nieces and one great-great-nephew. She was predeceased by her parents Pauline and Stefan; brothers Mike and Sam; sisters Kay, Mary and brother-in-law Paul Papushka. Anne was born and raised in Elma, MB but left at an early age to seek work in Winnipeg. She returned each summer to help with the busy days on the family farm. She was very fond of the farm animals and loved working in the garden, picking wild mushrooms and berries. We remember the baked buns, doughnuts and especially those delicious berry pies. Anne loved music and dancing. Many stories were shared about the old barn dances and picnics that she so enjoyed. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Whitemouth District Health Centre for the caring and kindness extended to Anne during her lengthy stay. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, May 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Ukrainian Catholic Church, Elma, MB with interment to follow at the church cemetery. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 24 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Ave. East, Beausejour.
