Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryADAM KULIKOWSKI Peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2006 at the Selkirk and District General Hospital, surrounded by his deeply devoted wife Evelyn, and the love of his family, Adam passed on to his eternal rest. Left to cherish his beautiful memory are his loving wife and childhood sweetheart, Evelyn of 44 years; his three children of whom he was so proud, Christine (Robert), Nadine (Bradley), Dale (Carol); and his six precious grandchildren, Nicholas, Myron, Kyle, Alicia, Cody James and Brandi. Adam was predeceased by his parents, Steve and Fanny Kulikowski, sisters Marion Dalman and Ollie Stasiuk, and infant twin brother, Andrew. He also leaves to mourn his brother-in-laws Emil Stasiuk and Herb Dalman, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended families and friends. Adam was born in Selkirk on Easter Sunday, April 18, 1938. He graduated from Happy Thought School and furthered his education at Success College. He started his working career in the banking industry, followed by the Town of Selkirk and then Pearson Construction Co. Ltd. Adam then accepted the position as Secretary Treasurer for the 1st Planning Board formed in Manitoba which he held for five years. He then went on to work for 33 years with the RM of St. Clements, his final position being Secretary Treasurer. Prior to his retirement, Adam worked for ten years as Manager for Bluebird Lodge. Throughout the years, Adam was very active in his community and church sitting on various committees. He was a lifelong resident of East Selkirk and a devout member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church. Dad was very proud of his Ukrainian heritage and especially enjoyed listening and dancing to Ukrainian and country music. As well, Dad enjoyed his market gardening, always sharing his produce with family and friends. During the winter months, Dad loved to bowl and play cards, sharing many laughs and good games with friends. Dad was a loving husband. Dad and Mom shared many good times as they travelled throughout Canada and the United States. In later years, they enjoyed camping with their motor home. Family meant everything to Dad and he always put us first. Whenever we needed him, Dad was always there. Gigi loved his grandchildren dearly and encouraged them always to excel at what ever they did. His strong faith in God and hard work ethic were shown not only in words, but by his steadfast example. His grandchildren were always greeted by his beautiful smile which we all will miss immensely. Special thanks to the devoted nurses and staff at the Selkirk General Hospital. Your kindness and understanding will never be forgotten. Deepest gratitude is also extended to Adam's specialists, Dr. P. Czaykowski and Dr. G. Glezerson. The family finds it difficult to express in mere words, their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Dr. G. Fuchs for the many years of compassion and dedication provided to Adam. May God Bless You All! Active pallbearers will be Oliver Kolmatiski, Emil Stasiuk, Tony Ruptash, Allan Beaton, Myron Borys, and Steve Dalman. Khrystos Voskrés Should you go first Should you go first and I remain to walk the road alone, I'll live in memories' garden, dear, with happy days we've known, In spring I'll touch the geraniums red, when fades the lilac blue In early fall when brown leaves fall, I'll catch a glimpse of you. Should you go first and I remain, one thing I'd have you do; Walk slowly down that long, lone path for soon I'll follow you, I want to know each step you take, that I may walk the same, For some day, down that lonely road, you'll hear me call your name. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
