CECILE PIEDALUE (nee MARTEL) On May 21st of the year 2006, Cécile Piédalue, née Martel, widow of Henri Piédalue passed away peacefully in her 83rd year. She was the daughter of Raoul Martel and Marie Gauthier. She will be deeply missed by her children, Gisele, Gloria and Guy; her son-in-law Rick and her daughter-in-law Heather; and her beloved grandchildren Aaron and Caleigh. The last of her siblings, she is predeceased by Eugene, Germain, Edouard and Louis (brothers) and their spouses, Jeanne, Eva and Ellen. Irene (wife of Eugene) is an amazing 90 years of age. Cécile cared for and kept in touch with many of their children over the years. She wishes to be mentioned the members of Henri's family with whom she had a special bond. She is predeceased by Euclid Piédalue (father-in-law); Laura Brulé (mother-in-law); Bob and Laurette Johnson, Bob and Bernie Huybrecht, Léo and Jean Piédalue and Ralph Piédalue (killed in action in the Second World War). She is survived by Alfred and Marge Piédalue and Raymond and Norma Piédalue. Her in-laws and their families corresponded regularly with her. A special thank you goes out to Dr. Albi and the staff at the St. Boniface clinic for the many years of devoted care, and to the paramedics and staff of Seven Oaks Hospital. Cécile was strong-willed and fiercely independent, yet unfailingly compassionate and caring, always ready to make life better for others without expecting anything in return, often giving her last dollar to a less fortunate family member. Even in her last years, when her world was confined to a small space, her inner strength was a source of solace for many. In keeping with Cécile's wishes, a private family graveside service was held on May 24, at 11:00 a.m. in the family plot at the St. Boniface Cemetery. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J.COUTU CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald St. 253-5086
