EDWARD ALBERT JOSEPH DELARONDE July 16, 1936 - May 23, 2006 Suddenly on the morning of Tuesday, May 23, 2006 we lost our much-loved Edward. He died in the Burnaby General Hospital. We thank the staff for their loving care. Edward (Gogo) was predeceased by his two sons, Roland and Dana and his wife Carol. He was also predeceased by mom Rose in 1981, by dad Albert in 1965 and stepfather Bill Bradley in 1979. Roland David, his brother, died July 14, 1942 at the age of two. He is survived by his oldest son Michael and two grandchildren; brother Jeffrey Bradley; brothers-in-law, Nick Mryglod and James Elliott; sisters, Lorraine, Gloria, Claudette, Margaret and Kathleen Bradley. His numerous nieces and nephews include, Glen James Wilton (Wales), Craig William Wilton (Winnipeg), Matthew Frazer Wilton (Toronto); Kevin, David and Donna Mrygold (Rochester, NY); Gregory, Lena, Veronica, Allan and David Reid; Catherine and Bradley Elliott; Michael and Jason Bradley - all of Vancouver. Edward graduated from Miles MacDonnell Collegiate in Winnipeg in June of 1954 with his grade XII. While attending Miles Macdonnell, he was chosen to represent Manitoba with other athletes at Canada's Junior Olympic Training Meet in 1952. He met sport greats such as Marilyn Bell (swimmer) and miler Chris Chatteway. After graduating Edward retained his love of sport. His first love was track and field, at which he excelled. He was a member of the Manitoba Hounds Team and as such travelled to other provinces representing Manitoba in sporting meets. His ability to remember sporting events and statistics was outstanding. Part of the process of being successful in track and field events, is the ability to plan and attend to minute detail for each event. Edward, you will be enjoying a ringside seat during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. How's that for planning? You will be lovingly remembered, sadly missed, and always ours, Edward. Interment and graveside service at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave., garden of the Good Samaritan, Saturday, May 27 at 3:00 p.m. There was a church service in Burnaby, Vancouver on Thursday, May 25 for family and friends.
